The Survival Courses offered by Texas Adventure and Survival School have been designed for students of all abilities. We have ensured that our three phase training program allows for a fluid progression from novice skill levels to expert, within a short space of time. We train and educate or students, so they don't starve when they find themselves in an emergency situation.
Our courses have been carefully designed to ensure that each student is equipped with the right skill set and knowledge base, which produces a positive outcome in the event of an emergency situation in both urban and wildness settings. Due to the diverse range of skills required for each type of environment (e.g. desert, mountain, jungle, etc.), we have also developed a region specific survival course, which are available upon request. As an added bonus, once you have completed a level on our survival course, you are able to re-attend that level as many times as you like in future, for FREE (Space Permitting).
Understanding the difference between Bushcraft and Survival Courses
Both bushcraft and survival courses share the same basic skill levels, but differ greatly in their methods of deployment. A survival situation is defined as an emergency situation which arises through an unforeseen series of events. Whereas bushcraft is defined as implementing a level of skill and understanding, which enables a person to live in the wilderness for prolonged periods of time. However, some courses in the United States combine both bushcraft and survival courses. With TASS’s unique insights and understanding in the difference between a survival situation and bushcraft, we set our students up for success in their outdoors endeavors.
